Clear Your Schedule to Accomplish More
Meetings suck. I am always baffled by CEOs or leaders (and U.S. Presidents) that cram their schedules with meetings. I do the opposite.
My schedule is open. I have one management team meeting per week to address initiatives, goals, progress and accountability. That’s it. All the rest of my time is purposely flexible.
Why? I have significant time to have individual, targeted conversations with my management team members. I have thinking time. I have time to develop and communicate my vision, strategy and ideas. I have time to learn the daily challenges of employees in all operational areas by visiting and learning their jobs. I have time to review processes, break down barriers and inspire employees to elevate their performance beyond any level that they ever imagined.
When I give presentations to executives and leaders all around the U.S. and Canada about transforming companies, a very common question is “How do you find time to …?” Easy. I make it.
Clear your schedule. Forget meetings. Start getting things done.
